What is Instagram advertising?
Instagram ads are paid posts that appear as people use the app: between Reels, in the Stories they tap through and in their main feed. They are created and managed in Meta Ads Manager, the same platform behind Facebook ads, so you can target by location, age, interests and behaviour, or reach people who already know your business.
Instagram passed 3 billion monthly active users in 2025, and Meta says most of its recent growth has come from Reels, messaging and recommendations. That makes it a strong channel for businesses with something visual to show. Done well, Instagram ads feel like content people want to watch; done badly, they get scrolled past in a second. Our job is to make sure yours are the former.
Why advertise on Instagram?
Instagram suits brands that look good on a phone screen. Here is what a well-run campaign can do for your business, and why so many of our clients include it in their paid social mix.
Built for visual products
Fashion, food, homeware, beauty, travel and hospitality all sell on how they look. Instagram gives your products a full-screen, sound-on stage instead of a line of text in a search result.
Precise, flexible targeting
Reach people by location, age, interests and behaviour, or build audiences from your website visitors, customer lists and Instagram followers. We combine these with Meta's broad targeting to find new buyers efficiently.
Reels reach new audiences
Reels are where Instagram is putting most of its focus. Short vertical video ads appear between Reels people are already watching, putting your brand in front of people who have never heard of you.
A short path to purchase
Link your product catalogue and Instagram can show people the items they are most likely to buy, with prices and a direct route to your checkout. Ideal for ecommerce stores with a range of products.
Win back interested visitors
Most website visitors leave without buying. Retargeting on Instagram reminds them of the products they viewed or the enquiry they started, often at a lower cost than finding brand new customers.
Measurable from day one
With the Meta Pixel and Conversions API set up properly, you can see which ads lead to sales, leads and calls. We report on the numbers that matter to your business, not just likes.
Instagram ad formats we manage
Each format plays a different role in a campaign. We choose the right mix for your goals and design creative to fit each one, rather than resizing a single image everywhere.
Reels ads
Full-screen vertical video shown between organic Reels. Ideal for reaching new audiences, showing products in action and telling a quick story in the first few seconds.
Stories ads
Full-screen image or video ads placed between people's Stories. A natural fit for time-limited offers, launches and events, with a clear call to action to tap through.
Feed image and carousel ads
Single images, videos or swipeable carousels in the main feed. Carousels let you show a product range, a step-by-step process or several reasons to buy in one ad.
Catalogue and shopping ads
Connected to your product feed, these ads automatically show relevant products to each person, including visitors who browsed items on your site but did not buy.
Partnership ads
Run ads through a creator's or partner's Instagram handle, with their permission. Content from a familiar face often feels more trustworthy than a brand speaking about itself.
Lead ads
Collect enquiries with a short form that opens inside Instagram, pre-filled with details people have already shared. Useful for quotes, bookings and consultations without a landing page.
How we manage your Instagram Ads
A clear process from first conversation to ongoing optimisation, with a named team who know your account and keep you updated on what is working.
- 01
Understand your goals
We start by learning about your business, customers, margins and targets. Whether you need online sales, leads or footfall, every decision that follows is shaped by what success looks like for you.
- 02
Set up tracking properly
We check or install the Meta Pixel and Conversions API, set up your conversion events and connect your product catalogue if you sell online, so results can be measured accurately from launch.
- 03
Create the ads
Our in-house graphic designers produce creative built for Instagram, from vertical Reels and Stories to Feed carousels. We write the copy and plan several variations so we can test what works.
- 04
Launch and test
We build your campaigns, audiences and budgets in Meta Ads Manager, then test creative, messages and audiences against each other to find the combinations that bring in results at the right cost.
- 05
Optimise and report
Our data-driven bid management, built by developers and PhD mathematicians, keeps budgets working hard. We refresh creative before it tires and send regular performance updates in plain English.
Is Instagram advertising right for you?
Great for
- Ecommerce stores selling visual products such as fashion, beauty, homeware and gifts
- Restaurants, cafés, salons, gyms and venues that want to fill bookings locally
- Travel, leisure and events businesses with experiences worth showing
- Brands launching a new product or building awareness with a younger audience
- Businesses working with creators or influencers
Works best when
- You can supply good photos or video, or let our designers create them
- Your website or booking process works well on mobile
- Tracking is in place, or you are happy for us to set it up
- You can commit to an initial three months so campaigns have time to learn and improve
Worth considering instead
If you sell B2B, LinkedIn Ads often reach decision-makers more directly. If people already search for what you offer, Google Ads captures that demand. We manage both, plus Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest, so we can advise honestly.
How Much Will It Cost?
Our management fee is a percentage of your ad spend, with a low minimum monthly fee. Your ad budget is paid directly to the platform and you stay in control of it.
Based on 11% of spend across Facebook & Instagram Ads with a minimum fee of £99/month + VAT*
* There is an initial period of three months, then a monthly rolling contract thereafter. To discuss the service in more detail, call us on 01642 664550 or email sales@sayu.co.uk.
Our management fee is 11% of your monthly ad spend, with a minimum fee of £99 per month + VAT. Your ad spend is separate: you set the budget and pay Meta directly, so you stay in control of it. There is an initial three-month period, then the contract runs monthly.
Ads can start delivering within a day or two of approval, and you will see early data in the first week. Meta's system needs time and conversions to learn who responds best, so performance usually settles over the first few weeks. Most campaigns improve steadily over the first three months as we test creative and audiences.
Yes. Both run through Meta Ads Manager, so a single campaign can show on Instagram, Facebook or both. We often run them side by side and let the results guide where budget goes, while still designing creative that suits each platform.
Our in-house graphic designers create ad creative for you, including images, carousels and short video edits for Reels and Stories. If you have your own photos, video or brand assets, we will use them. If you work with creators, we can run their content as partnership ads.
You need a Facebook Page and an Instagram professional (business or creator) account connected to your Meta Business account, so your ads show your name and profile picture. If you do not have these set up yet, we can help you get started.
No. Ads reach people who do not follow you, so a small account can still run successful campaigns. That said, people often check your profile before buying, so a tidy profile with recent posts helps your ads convert.
We send regular performance updates showing spend, results such as sales, leads or bookings, cost per result and return on ad spend where it can be tracked. We explain what changed, what we are testing next and why, so you always know where your money is going.
