What is Facebook advertising?
Facebook advertising lets you pay to show ads to people on Facebook, in places like the news feed, Stories, Reels, Marketplace and search results. Campaigns are built in Meta Ads Manager, where you choose a goal, an audience, a budget and the creative. You pay for the delivery you get, not a fixed listing fee.
Unlike search ads, people on Facebook are not looking for you yet. That makes it a strong channel for creating demand, reaching new local or national audiences and bringing back people who have already visited your website. Meta's Advantage+ automation now does much of the targeting and placement work, so good creative and accurate tracking matter more than ever.
Why advertise on Facebook?
Facebook works when you need to reach people before they start searching, keep your brand in front of past visitors, or collect leads at a cost you can measure.
Reach beyond search demand
Search ads only catch people who already know what to look for. Facebook lets you introduce your product or service to likely customers who have not discovered you yet.
Local or nationwide targeting
Target a radius around your shop or service area, specific towns, or the whole of the UK. Useful for trades, clinics, gyms and retailers that serve a defined area.
Bring visitors back
Most people leave a website without buying or enquiring. Retargeting ads remind them about the products they viewed or the quote they started, which is often where the cheapest conversions come from.
Leads without a landing page
Lead ads use a mobile-friendly form that pre-fills details people have already shared with Facebook, so it is quick for them to enquire and simple for you to follow up.
Flexible budgets
Meta's minimum daily budgets are low, so you can start with a modest budget, prove what works, then scale the campaigns that bring in profitable results.
Measurable results
With the Meta Pixel and Conversions API set up correctly, you can see which ads lead to sales, bookings and enquiries, and put more budget behind the ones that pay their way.
Facebook ad formats we manage
Different goals need different formats. We pick the right mix for your offer, and our designers create assets sized for each placement.
Image ads
A single strong image with clear copy. Quick to produce and test, and often the best way to find which message and offer people respond to.
Video and Reels ads
Short vertical and square videos for Feed, Stories and Reels. Ideal for showing a product in use, a before-and-after, or the people behind your business.
Carousel ads
Up to ten swipeable cards in one ad, each with its own image and link. Great for showing a product range, a step-by-step process or several offers.
Catalogue and shopping ads
Connect your product catalogue so Meta can show people the items most relevant to them, including products they have already viewed on your site.
Lead ads
Instant forms that collect names, emails and phone numbers without leaving Facebook. We keep questions focused so leads are useful, not just plentiful.
Messenger and click-to-message ads
Ads that open a conversation with your business in Messenger or WhatsApp, suited to services where people want to ask a question before they buy.
How we manage your Facebook Ads
A clear, repeatable process with a named point of contact, so you always know what we are doing with your budget and why.
- 01
Goals and audit
We start with what success looks like for you: sales, leads, bookings or footfall, and the cost per result you can afford. If you have run ads before, we audit the account to see what worked.
- 02
Tracking set-up
We check your Meta Pixel, set up or review the Conversions API and define the events that matter, so campaigns optimise for real outcomes rather than clicks or likes.
- 03
Creative and copy
Our in-house designers produce images and video edits sized for Feed, Stories and Reels, and we write several versions of the copy so we can test hooks, offers and calls to action.
- 04
Launch and test
We build a campaign structure that gives Meta's delivery system enough data to learn, then test audiences, creative and offers in a controlled way instead of changing everything at once.
- 05
Optimise and report
We refresh tired creative, move budget towards what is converting and cut what is not. You get regular performance updates in plain English, tied back to the goals we agreed.
Is Facebook advertising right for you?
Great for
- Ecommerce brands with products that look good in an image or video
- Local services that cover a defined area, such as trades, clinics and gyms
- Lead generation for quotes, consultations and bookings
- Launches, events and seasonal offers that need awareness quickly
- Retargeting people who have visited your site but not converted
Works best when
- Your website or form is mobile-friendly and quick to load
- Conversions can be tracked with the Meta Pixel and Conversions API
- You can supply photos, video or let our designers create them
- You allow a few weeks of testing before judging results
Worth considering instead
If people already search for what you sell, Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising may capture that demand more directly. For B2B audiences, LinkedIn is often a better fit, and TikTok or Pinterest can suit younger or inspiration-led audiences. We manage all of these.
How Much Will It Cost?
Our management fee is a percentage of your ad spend, with a low minimum monthly fee. Your ad budget is paid directly to the platform and you stay in control of it.
Based on 11% of spend across Facebook & Instagram Ads with a minimum fee of £99/month + VAT*
* There is an initial period of three months, then a monthly rolling contract thereafter. To discuss the service in more detail, call us on 01642 664550 or email sales@sayu.co.uk.
Our fee is 11% of your monthly ad spend, with a minimum fee of £99 per month + VAT. Your ad spend is separate: you set the budget and pay Meta directly for the ads. There is an initial three-month period, then the contract is monthly rolling.
Ads can start getting impressions and clicks within a day of approval. Meta's delivery system then needs a learning phase, typically around 50 optimisation events in a week per ad set, before performance settles. Most accounts need four to eight weeks of testing and refinement to find a reliably profitable set-up.
It depends on your goal and what a customer is worth to you. We work back from your target cost per lead or sale to suggest a budget that gives campaigns enough data to learn. Starting smaller and scaling what works is usually safer than launching with a large budget.
Yes. Our in-house graphic designers create ad images and edit video for Feed, Stories and Reels, and our team writes the copy. If you have your own photos, footage or brand assets, we will use them and adapt them to each placement.
Facebook and Instagram ads are run from the same Meta Ads Manager, and Meta's Advantage+ placements can show one campaign across both. We decide whether to keep them together or separate based on your results. See our Instagram Ads page if Instagram is your main focus.
The Conversions API sends events such as purchases and leads from your server to Meta, alongside the Meta Pixel in the browser. It gives Meta a fuller picture when browser tracking is blocked or limited, which helps both reporting and optimisation. We recommend it for most accounts and can help set it up.
Some sectors, including housing, employment, financial products and services, and social issues or politics, must be declared as a Special Ad Category. These campaigns have limited targeting options, for example no age or gender narrowing and no lookalike audiences. We plan campaigns around these rules from the start.
