HTTP status & redirect checker
See the status code and every redirect hop for up to 10 URLs at once — with the redirect problems that cost you rankings flagged.
About HTTP status codes
The first digit tells you the outcome:
- 2xx — success: the page loaded (200 OK)
- 3xx — redirect: the page has moved (301 permanent, 302 / 307 temporary, 308 permanent)
- 4xx — client error: the page wasn’t found or access was refused (404, 410, 403)
- 5xx — server error: something went wrong on the server (500, 502, 503)
Use a 301 (or 308) when a page has moved for good: search engines pass its rankings to the new URL. Use a 302 (or 307) only for a genuinely temporary move, like a seasonal page.
Every extra hop slows the page down for visitors and crawlers, and long chains can stop search engines following them at all. Point links and redirects straight at the final URL.
This free tool checks up to 10 at a time. For a whole site, our SEO team runs a full crawl that checks every internal link and redirect.
