Schema checker

Enter a page URL to test its structured data. We find every JSON-LD and microdata item, check it against Google’s rules and tell you exactly what to fix — and which rich results it can earn.

About the schema checker

Every structured data item on the page, the way Google reads it:

  • Broken JSON — with the likely cause, like a stray comma or curly quotes
  • Missing @context or @type, and misspelt types such as “LocalBuisness”
  • Properties Google requires or recommends for each rich result
  • Formats: dates, prices and currencies, full URLs, stock status, ratings
  • Which rich results each item is eligible for — and which it isn’t

Article and blog posts, Product and product variants, offers, reviews and ratings, Local business and its subtypes, Organisation, Breadcrumbs, FAQ, Event, Recipe, Video, Job posting and Software app. Other schema.org types are read and their values checked, without type-specific rules.

We read the page’s HTML as your server sends it. Schema added afterwards by JavaScript — through Google Tag Manager or some Shopify and WordPress apps — isn’t in that HTML. Google can usually still see it, but it’s slower and less reliable. Google’s Rich Results Test shows the rendered version.

No. Valid markup makes a page eligible, but Google decides what to show. The markup must also match what visitors can see — and some features are limited: FAQ results now only appear for government and health sites, and How-to results have been retired.

Each issue tells you the property and what to change. If your schema comes from a plugin or theme, the fix usually belongs there rather than on one page. Need new markup? Our free schema generator builds it for you.
