Our free schema checker is live. Enter any page URL and it tests the structured data on that page: every JSON-LD block and microdata item, checked against the rules Google uses for rich results.
What it checks
- Broken JSON: one stray comma makes Google ignore a whole block. The checker finds broken blocks and tells you the likely cause, such as a trailing comma, curly quotes pasted from a word processor, or a template variable that never got filled in.
- Missing or misspelt types: a missing @context or @type, a type spelt "LocalBuisness", or a property written "Name" instead of "name". Schema is case-sensitive, so these are silently ignored.
- Required and recommended properties: what Google needs for each rich result, including Product, offers and reviews, Article, Local business, Breadcrumbs, Event, Recipe, Video and Job posting.
- Formats: dates, prices without a £ sign, three-letter currency codes, full URLs, stock status values and ratings that fit their scale.
Which rich results can you earn?
For every item, the checker says whether it is eligible for a Google rich result, and if not, exactly which property is stopping it. It also tells you where Google has changed the rules: FAQ results now only appear for government and health sites, How-to results have been retired, and Google doesn’t show review stars for reviews a business publishes about itself.
Pairs with the schema generator
Found something missing? Our free schema markup generator builds the JSON-LD for you. Then run the checker again to confirm the page is clean.
If your schema comes from a theme or plugin, the same problem is usually on every page that uses that template. That is where our SEO team can help: we fix structured data in the templates, so the whole site stays valid.
