Portfolio Life Of Vinyl
Life Of Vinyl is an online record store we designed and built for Vectis, the well-known auction house, when it launched vinyl records as a brand-new product category.
The brief was a clean, minimal storefront that lets the records do the talking, backed by the integrations needed to sell across the web and eBay from one live catalogue.
About the Project
Vinyl record sales in the UK are at a 28 year high, and Vectis wanted to move quickly into a category that had suddenly become hugely popular. We helped this entrepreneurial client, with a real track record for success, become one of the largest independent online retailers in the sector.
The site runs on the Sayu E-Commerce platform, so the team can manage products, pricing, content and promotions themselves without waiting on developers. Its open architecture made it straightforward to connect the store to the marketplaces and marketing tools where record collectors already shop.
Because many records are one-offs or short runs, stock accuracy matters more than usual. Our SayuConnect module keeps the website and eBay in sync with as little delay as possible, so a record sold on one channel disappears from the other almost straight away.
