Since Google introduced new changes to their trademark policy; allowing adwords advertisers to bid on brand and trademark terms, Hitwise have recently revealed that the top online brands in the UK have significantly increased their spending on paid brand search marketing.

Google have designed a new favigon (the small icon/ logo you see in your browser next to the URL).

So, after 8 and a half years, why have Google decided to change it?

"The reason is that we wanted to develop a set of icons that would scale better to some new platforms like the iPhone and other mobile devices."
