The new service lets you receive important alerts about your account as text messages on your mobile phone.

You can receive SMS text alerts about payment and billing problems, ad activity and any performance issues.

If you're not actively managing your account on a daily basis, we think this service would come in very handy, especially if you're often commuting/ unable to receive your emails. By receiving this information in real-time, it can help to resolve any issues that may need immediate attention.

To set up phone alerts, go to My Account, Account Preferences, then Notification Preferences. Here you should see Set up Phone Alerts. The service is not available to all customers yet as Google is still rolling it out but do keep your eye out, as it will be available to more users soon.

Google Adwords doesn't charge you for sending the text messages to your mobile phone. However, depending on your service provider, you may be charged for receiving them so you should see your service plan for details.
